We have a couple of good discussions going on over in the Formosa Neijia discussion group.
The first is regarding the 1928 All China Tournament that so many people have heard about. It seems that everyone and their brother won it, doesn’t it? After hearing about so many winners, I wondered about the nature of the contest. That thread now has the answer. Who won? Check out the thread to find out.
We’re also discussing the use of force in relation to fajing. Different groups feel differently about this. A great new clip by Stephen Hwa that explores the one-inch punch in terms of fajing kicks off the thread. There’s some good info on li and whether or not to use it in practice. So don’t miss these great contributions from your fellow FN’ers.

one thing i note on the disscussion group is the term 4 ounces.
if one person takes a rigid stance and you apply 4 ounces to knock them over this is mechanics.
the 4 oz principle i believe in is where you dont allow the 1000 to land past the 4oz level
then you use your 4 to add to the total their body
recieves.
a version of rolling with the punches.
imagine if your opponent had a knife would you push back through the point of power or deflect and return his blade or your own.
the phillipinos say that every hand holds a knife.
this means that every attack has the ability to damage.
a similar tai chi saying is
treat a man like a boy and a boy like a man.
