This is Taipei teacher Huang Lien-shun doing the Chen Pan-ling baguazhang. As you can perhaps tell, this spot in Canada is pretty popular. Huang isn’t a baguazhang specialist BTW. He’s someone that grew up in Taizhong and loved training all of the material from Gao Fang-xian and Chen Pan-ling as a child. He never gave it up, but continued to train diligently.
As you can tell, this is a bit smoother of a version than some other people have shown. And it has some interesting characteristics in the performance. On the whole this is a fairly smooth performance of the palms. Nice job.

Interesting! Looks rather different from what Cheng style I have seen (so far); looks a bit like Wang Shujin’s stuff as well (the foot-raising bit)…

From what I’ve heard it looks like Wang’s stuff because Wang’s comes from Chen (and Zhang Zhunfeng).

Very nice. It is a bit different from the Swimming Dragon Baguazhang I learned in Taiwan from Chen Yun Ching, Chen Pan Ling’s son. The sequence of movements is the same, but the edges have been smoothed, so to speak. I always like to see somebody doing Chen Pan Ling’s style. Thanks.
