This is famous Taiwan mantis and taiji teacher Wang Chieh doing push hands with Mike Martello. I’ve pushed with Wang and can definitely say he has skills.
This is his son, who teaches in the States. As you can tell, his son is keeping up the family tradition as far as skill goes.

I enjoyed these videos, Dave. I even enjoyed watching the two unnamed guys in the background of the first clip. I had a question about the form of the game.
Whenever someone gets thrown off (not just in this video, but in most of them that I’ve seen), the winner or master stands there and waits as the loser scrambles to get back in front of him to start over. Is that a point of ettiquette, as in the younger, less masterful guy gas to do the scrambling or are they just trying to maintain position in front of the camera or what?
Seems like the master could turn to face the guy being thrown and they’d get twice as much push hands done in hte same amount of time.

I watched objectively (as requested) - and my conclusion is that younger Wang is obviously fraud. Is it enough or do we need to talk more about this?

Having trained with Howard, I can assure you that he is the real deal. The man has skills.

From what I can see on the videos, the difference between the gents doing the throwing/pushing and those being thrown is structure and alignment.

I touched hands with both: and as far as my little knowledge goes, I would say they are both really skilled.
But nonetheless is Grandmaster Wang Chieh way more skilled than his son. He got decades more experience in a lot of ways.
But to say Howard is fraud, without touching him, is a big mistake and not very polite. But politeness is something missing in general in the http://WWW. (and this means NOT that you can“t be obvious and critisize!)
