Formosa Neijia

Wow, this is an interesting story. I had heard some rumors about what was going on when Wang’s son was in jail. But this might be the whole story. It sure makes an interesting read:

There is no arguement that wang xian, and both his sons are very good at taijii quan. when i was living there i saw them often and i can say they are good at taiji. but as a family they are not liked by the community in chen jiagou or wenxian. this is because thier family is considered the mafia in wen county.

about three years ago the younger wangs sons tried to take over the village by replacing the old mayor. the mayor in a village has much power over any disputes between family’s. it is said the wangs wanted the mayor’s power because the chen family is building a bigger school in the village and the wang’s did not want this. if they were mayor of the village they would have control over what families can do with the land and other business. the old mayor is very well liked by everyone because he is a fair person.

first the wang’s tried to buy the election by giving small gifts to the villagers. when this didn’t work, one of wang’s sons and five others went to the old mayors home. he is about seventy years old and not very strong. they beat up the mayor severly and he had to go to the hospital. he could have died. many people saw this happen, but at first they were afraid to speak out against the wangs. the people told the story of what they saw only after the chen family said they would protect the villagers if they told the truth. the police put the wang son who led the group of men who beat up the mayor in prison for over a year. and the other son had to escape the county or go to prison too. the wang family has always been part of the government communist party, so wang xian has connections with the inner government power people, and he was able to buy his son out of prison and arrange for the other son to come home. but this ruined that family’s reputation. now the school they built near the village is failing because not many familiy’s want their sons to go there.

i know wang xian has many students, even in the states. this has nothing to do with the value of wang xian’s taiji. it is only about the family, and mostly the sons, but in china the sons always follow the fathers orders. these things i said here is documented in wenxian records by the police, so it is not just rumor. last time i was in chen jia gou more than a year ago i was told the wangs were now living in wenxian not doing too much taiji but doing mafia things. there are stories of the sons raping young girls, and selling protection business in wenxian. other things too. also when they were building the school in the village they would not pay the workers after the school was finished.

this might surprise some people to hear this kind of things, but in china there has always been the strong and the weak. and the strong demands much from the weaker people. even in the villages. and very often one rich family will hire kungfu masters to make sure evryone in the vilagges pays them. or it is a kungfu family that does this. people in china will seldom talk to foriegners about these kinds of things. it is a shameful part of our culture. biut it has always been this way.

this is the reason chen bing was made vice mayor of chen jiagou even though he did not want the job. everyone in the village likes him and knows he is a good person. also, chen bing is known as a very good fighter. before the chen family did not want to be involved in this problem with the wangs. the chens were treated very badly in the cultural revolution, and the wangs were treated very good because their family has connections with the goivernment. so they don’t want to have fighting problems with the wangs and go back to be treated badly. so they did not want not to get involved in this village problem. but the villagers asked them for help. so now they are helping to protect the villagers against people who want try to take the village over.

still, this is a quiet matter in chen jiagou. the chens will barely talk about it because they don’t want to look like they are trying to take over the village. all they want is to teach taiji.

even though the wang’s have good taiji, i thought americans should know this whole story about the wang family.
