Formosa Neijia

This is the famous Du Yu-zi doing the lao jia yi lu. He was the highest ranked person in Chen style to come to Taiwan. You can find more info on him here.
People who have only been exposed to the “official” version of Chen style will be surprised by his performance. This version looks pretty different. It’s quite a bit straighter, perhaps more “square” than most people are used to seeing.

I think it’s very important for us to realize that despite marketing talk from a certain branch of the style, there isn’t just one way that Chen style is supposed to look. There are different frames of Chen and there are flavors within those frames. By exposing ourselves to the different flavors, we educate ourselves as to how different people have intepreted Chen style.
