This one of the nicest versions of Taiwan Chen style that I’ve ever seen. It’s just beautiful. The clip says that this is from Pan Yong-zhou’s (Pan Wing Chow) lineage. The circular, dan tien driven movements stand in direct contrast to the more linear style movements commonly seen from the Du lineage.
I can now understand why a teacher from the Wang Meng-bi lineage said that my Chen style looked more like Pan’s than Du’s — my form more closely resembles what is shown here than anything that I’ve seen from the Du lineage. That’s totally okay with me, I love the flavor shown in this video and my body seems to naturally gravitate towards this type of movement.
Kudos to QuaiJohnCain for putting this vid up.

Hi,
This version practiced by a student of Pan Yong Zhou is very similar to the Xinjia yilu (dajia) that I learned in Beijing from Tian Qiuxin, who learned it from his uncle Tian Qiu chen, a student of Chen Fake. There are only a few differences in the form and the biggest difference would be that the form is done with more fajing than we do.
