Wow, lots of things to discuss lately. I’m a bit swamped right now with work and a sick baby. So I’d like to take this time to comment just briefly on a few things.
First, Tom took the time to respond at length on the discussion about large vs. small Yang frame. I thought his points were well-made and I didn’t want them to get lost in the comment section, so I made a post out of them. He brings up a lot of things that, frankly, deserve to be responded to at length, which I don’t have time to do right now.
As soon as I get a chance, I’ll post a lengthy response.
Second, Mike Sigman weighed in on the Judoist: Judo and IMA NOT the same post. I appreciate his response and took a quick look at the material he was referring to. I was aware of his discussions on the AikiWeb (27 pages and counting!) and Aikido Journal site about IMA aspects of aikido, but I hadn’t seen anything in particular about an IMA-judo connection. Having taken a quick look, my initial thoughts are: 1. I might have been wrong in my Judoist post. 2. There may be lots more to judo than is commonly known, although I think the jury is still out on whether or not some of these claims are founded. 3. If those claims are founded, then a whole lot of apple carts will be upset. So the judo-IMA connection deserves to be looked at again, as well.
Finally, my good blogging buddy wuji has informed me that I could move the blog upmarket, so to speak, with my own web address for very little money. Doing that would allow me to greatly improve the blog and free me from the limitations imposed by using the free service. I may look at that next week.
So that’s where things stand. Look for an update soon.
